to Repair/Refurbish Cisco IP Phones
This procedure works any of

Basic Requirements needed:

Computer/Laptop with an Ethernet
port and Windows base OS
·
Crossover Ethernet cable with rj45
connector or a switch or hub (manage less type)
·
TFTP Server software (tftpd32) http://tftpd32.jounin.net/
·
Broken Cisco IP Phone
·
Power Adaptor specific for your Cisco
IP Phone Model
·
Cisco IP Phone configuration file (XMLDefault.cnf.xml
)
·
Download Cisco IP Phone Firmware version http://software.cisco.com/download/navigator.html?i=rt
Follow Instructions below:
- Disconnect Computer/Laptop from any network
- Unplug Adaptor from Cisco IP Phone
- Set computer static IP address to 192.168.1.1 & disable any firewalls
- Unzip you Cisco IP Phone Firmware downloaded from cisco website
If you had Cisco IP Phone 7912G model you must have Cisco IP Phone firmware downloaded from cisco websites http://software.cisco.com/download/navigator.html?i=rt

Firmware Version: 8.0.1(051117A)
File Name: cmterm-7912G-sccp.8-0-1.zip
- Put in together the Cisco IP Phone configuration file on same directory of you firmware modify our XMLDefault.cnf.xml file to reflect our intent to reflash the phone.

Download my XMLDefault.cnf.xml & save it to same file directory on ur firmware

- Download TFTPpd32 software at http://tftpd32.jounin.net/
- Install and open TFTPpd32 software
- Configure settings and modify the following, in Global tab, in Start Services uncheck everything except TFTP Server & DHCP Server
- In the TFTP tab, set a Base Directory to somewhere convenient for you
- Set TFTP Security to NONE
- In the DHCP tab, set IP pool starting to 192.168.1.2
- Size Poo: 10
- Boot File & WINS/DNS Server (Leave it blank)
- Default Router: 192.168.1.1 (Physical IP Address of you PC)
- Mask : 255.255.255.0 (Global Subnet Mask)
- Domain Name (Leave it blank)
- Additional Option 150 for small box, Set 192.168.1.1 on next box to it
- Uncheck all in DHCP Options
- Press OK & Restart TFTPpd32
- Click on the Log viewer
- Now while your TFTP Server is running,
- Plug in the power adapter cable from the Cisco IP Phone and plug it back in (Phone begins its power up cycle)
- While the phone is powering up, and before the application Menu button flashes on and off, press hold #. continue to hold # until message LED on the handset flashes on and off sequence in red.
- release # and press 123456789*0#
Do not power down the phone until it completes the factory reset process and the main screen appears
- if all goes well the TFTPpd32 will show the log connection and show the file it request
- The Cisco IP Phone shows the upgrading firmware process
- Phones should boot up completely one the Installation is COMPLETE!
